Tribute to THE APPLE

4 January 2017 at 17:44

Today is the birthday of Isaac Newton (374 years ago his birth), and we wanted to make a tribute to the APPLE.

They say that a falling apple inspired Newton‘s theories. And a Swiss legend tells that William Tell was forced to shoot an apple on the head of his own son, and successes.

The apple is the temptation of Adam and Eve according to the biblical narrative. According to Greek mythology, the apple of discord triggered a dispute between the goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite eventually leading to the Trojan War. And the golden apples, cultivated by Idunn, granted immortality goddesses in Norse mythology.

The golden apples appear also in the Garden of The Hesperides, as the fruit of the Tree of life (there are opinions that say the golden apples are actually quinces).

The apple symbolizes the story of Snow White deception, bright red kills the protagonist.

In the commercial area, various companies have been interested in this fruit. Apple Records is a British record label created by the Beatles, whose logo is a green apple; and is also the name and logo of the multinational Apple, which designs computers and other electronics.

With a mask, is the statue that has the Max Awards (theater) designed by the artist Joan Brossa.

And with the number m54, is our APPLE JAM!

Three years ago, we wanted to pay homage to the legend of the Goddess Idunn with this apple and hazelnuts jam.

REMEMBER… An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
